I’ve been thinking about how like bullies are usually the way they are because of their parents. Not always but usually. Sometimes their parents are too blind to see their kids are bullies, are in denial or encourage them. Sometimes they let their kids do whatever they want or are abusive.

If a kid gets called out on bullying, they usually aren’t suspended or anything, they just get warnings. People tend to ignore bullying and parents say their children wouldn’t do such a thing and threaten to sue if the school does anything about it.

So force the parents to take 5 hours of parenting classes each time a child bullies another child. Must be completed within a week. Each time, they’ll get 5 more hours. The parents who ignore their child’s behavior will hopefully start to get angry and do something about it, once it starts affecting them since those parents are usually so self-centered. The abusive parents could learn something, if they get angry at the classes or something it could encourage the people holding the classes to investigate the family. The parents who think their kids are just being kids will get fed up, maybe they’ll have to get a babysitter 5 hrs a week or miss out on work and it would encourage them to do something about it.

it’s just an idea i had don’t be cruel im only in high school lol and it’s just that i’ve seen what bullying does to some kids. ruins them and drives some to suicide.
I know that some kids are just “bad seeds” and that it’s not the parent’s fault but I think that if the child gets punished more, they might tone it down. If the parent is angry, they’ll punish the child more severely because they tend to look at bullying as not that big of a deal when it is.

They could also have the kids attend a similar class so that the kid doesn’t use the parenting class as leverage.
i think that people need to go further. kids are killing themselves because of bullies. their self-esteem is ruined for life.

the abusive parents could get angrier but maybe their behavior would become apparent at the classes.

you can already punish parents for something a child does. social services has removed children from homes who were out of control.
