P & C, Tuckshop and School Canteen Benefits

Here are some Benefits of using the School Shop Online Cashless Canteen System for the P & C, Tuckshop and Canteen
Once parents place an order, the money is already on the way to the school’s nominated bank account. No more taking cash at meal times and working out change. All that needs to happen is for tuckshop staff to hand out the pre-packed orders.
Orders for student meals arrive overnight from parents who have ordered online. In fact the system allows ordering up to a fortnight ahead. Instead of volunteers collecting paper bags, money and orders in the morning, they simply have to press the print button.
Tuck shop online can provide daily aggregated reporting for total orders. A history of orders per day and season can be accumulated to make re-ordering more efficient.
With this system, parents select the items from the school’s tuckshop menu and their payment goes to the school’s bank account. To balance the books all you need do, is print a report which will automatically match orders delivered, money taken and the bank account balance.
When parents order and nominate the specific meal times, the tuckshop can implement better planning. With less cash handling, queues are shorter and meal delivery times are shortened. By knowing orders ahead of time, tuckshops also have time to implement contingency plans for meal delivery and need not ‘run out’ of healthy choices.
If a school chose to offer evening or breakfast meals, they need not open their tuckshop to deliver those meals. A school or tuckshop may nominate a local restaurant to receive the orders for those meals and the restaurant’s menu may be displayed. This way a school can gain further commissions while supporting their local community and offering a greater range of meals.
If required, the School Shop Online team will gladly come and sit with the tuckshop team and train them every step of the way although if the tuckshop team know how to find the school’s web site they will be able to operate the system in a couple of simple clicks of the mouse.

This is a user pays system where parents pay a very small surcharge to order items online but ultimately they are still likely to be saving from the traditional method of just handing over cash (see Parent’s Benefits).
P&C Associations and/or Tuckshop Coordinators can set the total percentage of surcharge to be paid. This surcharge then goes partly to maintain the system (4%) and the balance over and above this is paid to the P&C and/or Tuckshop as revenue which can be used to improve any services around the school. This revenue sharing model allows P&C’s and Tuckshops to not only improve the health of children, the wealth of parents and school security but also to make contributions over time to such items as air conditioning, sporting equipment and computers.
